the Globe sessions - Sheryl Crow

I like Sheryl, not only for her looks but also for her music (I really sound like an educated teenager now). I liked the previous two albums, especially the last one 'Sheryl Crow', while most other people prefer her first one 'Tuesday night music club', commonly known as one of the best albums of the nineties.
Then came 'My favorite mistake', the first single of this next album. I was a little disappointed, it sounded dull and slow and I feared for the new album. Could this lady deliver three masterpieces in a row?
Probably I didn't listen very well to that song because some days before the new album got released, I got hooked on the thing. I heard it somewhere in a mall and the tune stayed in my head, it is slow but it has a dangerous hidden addictive drag in it.
I bought the new album.
It is not as poppy as 'Sheryl Crow', it's more listen than dance, more wisdom than fun. Except for 'There goes the neighborhood'' (great song title) which still has some 'fun Sheryl Crow' in it and it's by far my favorite. Other nice shots are 'Anything but down', 'It don't hurt' and a sober 'Crash and burn'.
While the previous album was loaded with something I like to describe as pleasure-rock, this album is not. You really need to listen this time and give it some of your high quality time.
Now if everybody stops making music, maybe then I can find some time but as for the moment too many other bands and albums keep seducing me... .(Prinz William).

All soundclips are in Real Audio format. Quality may differ and is generally acceptable - though never as good as CD or MP3 music.
