This show is commonly known as one of the biggest scale model happenings in
continental Europe, and this certainly holds true for the trade part of the
show.
Mostly because of this it's one of my favorite visits during the modeling
year, especially this time since I was on the hunt for old Matchbox kits.
The unsuspected find of a very cheap original Matchbox Aeritalia G.91Y and
an old original Matchbox Westland Lynx surely helped to make my day.
I met Krzysztof Porebski from Ardpol resins, a very friendly person who
produces a line of high quality resin models of very fascinating aircraft.
I had always wanted to buy some of these Ardpol resin kits so here I was
presented with the occasion and I obtained a Curtiss Falcon and a PZL-38 Wilk.
Another nice discovery was the big Revell Junkers Ju-290, the kit was
already released several months ago but it was only on this show I saw one
for sale, which I naturally had to buy.
Besides kits I managed to obtain some old issues of Air Enthusiast and Air
International.
Great reading material before going to sleep. Makes you dream of airplanes.
Whereas the trade part of the show seems to expand year by year, the
contest itself seems to go in the opposite direction.
But the quality of the models entered in the contest remains on a high level.
It made me feel once more I should buy a new zillion pixels camera which
can capture the details much better than my current 0.7 million pixel camera.
