Every two years the good people of the Amay Modèles Club host their model show
in the city of Huy, located at the lovely Meuse river. It is always a pleasure
driving to this event which is held in a grand local school.
This time the contest took place in the main cafeteria. All competing models
were displayed on several round tables placed side by side in a circle.
Most entries were aircraft models in 1/48 scale, closely followed by 1/35
scale armor models, but I was happy to notice there were several 1/72 scale
aircraft models as well. Several of them were pretty good builds.
32 clubstands (including a few from abroad) and tradestands could be found
in several classrooms.
In an entirely impulsive moment I bought an old Airfix deHavilland Heron II.
Buying this kit had never ever crossed my mind before, but in a flash of a moment
I could picture this model in Belgian Air Force markings sitting in my collection
(though our military forces operated only one example in the Congo) what prompted
me to buy it.
Now I only have to build it...
